Angela McAvoy is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the Religious Education department. She organizes and implements the parish catechetical program and supervises First Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation programs and liturgies. She also recruits and trains catechists and volunteers.

Before she was promoted to RE Coordinator in June 2023, Angela was the RE Assistant Coordinator at Nativity. She has also served the parish as a Volunteer Catechist (2005-2022) and as a Summer Session Catechist (2012-2022).

Angela graduated from St. John’s University in Staten Island, New York with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education and has since worked in both elementary and middle schools in both New Jersey and New York. She has also worked at Brookdale Community College as an adjunct Teacher and has experience working with children with special needs.

Angela has been married to her husband Chris for 25 years and have 3 beautiful children (really young adults)! They are happily raising their kids in Shrewsbury.
