Marian Prayer Group

The Marian Prayer Group (Tuesday, 7:15 p.m., in the Chapel) has been in existence since June of 1990, so for 21 years, devotion to our Blessed Mother and her rosary have been the continuous heartbeat of our Tuesday night prayer group. Many people have come with prayers of petition or thanksgiving and find a true peace, as we always do, in our Chapel at the Church of the Nativity.

On May 28, 1997, the Church of the Nativity celebrated the beginning of the millennium with the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary (“Enthrone” – put upon a throne; 2] to invest with the authority or office of a king or bishop; 3] to exalt or revere)

Our clergy, fathers, mothers, all the faithful of our parish and the lost sheep of the flock were consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus: To continue the mission of teaching, governing and sanctifying the faithful. For the families to enthrone Jesus as the Head of their families and to be at the center of their lives and of all their endeavors. For the lost sheep, that His mercy and grace be poured out on them that they may find a saving refuge.

We asked that our parish be blessed and watched over with Jesus’ loving care. All was asked in the name of Our Blessed Mother, the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the friend and patroness of this parish.

Act of Consecration

Almighty and Eternal Father, we the parishioners of the Church of the Nativity consecrate our parish to the Sacred Heart of Your only begotten Son Who loves us with a tender and everlasting love. May we return this love as He comes into the midst of our parish community in a special way from this day on. We accept you, Divine Heart of Jesus, as our loving King and as a member of this parish. Stay with us, Lord. Sanctify our joys and comfort us in all our sorrows. May your Holy Spirit penetrate each of us that we may be continually aware of Your special Presence among us, especially in one another. Help us through this consecration to have a deep and loving respect for one another so that we may daily live this consecration in our parish life.

Let our love go beyond our parish into the world so that we may do our part to win other families to your Sacred Heart; thus helping to form a real community among the families of our parish and of the whole world.

Our prayer group is obliged to give one hour a week to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and pray the Consecration prayer as follows:

Parish Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Most Blessed Virgin, Immaculate Queen and our Mother Mary, refuge and consolation of all miserable creatures; prostrate before your throne, we the parishioners of the Church of the Nativity choose you for Our Lady, Mother and Advocate with God. We consecrate this parish, with all who belong to it, fore

ver to your service, and beseech you, O Mother of God, to receive us into the number of your servants, by taking us all under your protection, helping us in life, and still more at the hour of death. O Mother of Mercy, we appoint you as Lady and Ruler of our whole parish, of our interests, and of all our affairs. Disdain not to take charge of them: dispose of all as it pleases you. Bless us, then, and all of the Church of the Nativity parishioners and do not permit that any of us should offend your Son. Defend us in temptations, deliver us from dangers, provide for us in our necessities, counsel us in our doubts, comfort us in our afflictions, assist us in our infirmities, and especially in the sorrows of death. Never allow the devil to glory in having in his chains any of us who are now consecrated to you; but grant that we may go to heaven to thank you, and together with you praise and love Jesus our Redeemer for all eternity. Amen.

Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and tender Mother of men, to fulfill the desires of the Sacred Heart, and the request of the Vicar of your Son on earth, we consecrate the Church of the Nativity to you and to your Immaculate Heart, and recommend to you all the parishes of our nation and the world.

Please accept our consecration, dearest Mother, and use us and all parishes as you wish to accomplish your designs upon the world.

O Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of Heaven and earth, and of our parish, rule over us, together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, Our King.

Save us from the spreading flood of modern paganism, kindle in our hearts and homes the love of purity, the practice of the Christian life, and an ardent zeal for souls, and for the holiness of family life.

We come with confidence to you, O Throne of Grace and Mother of Fair Love; inflame us with the same Divine Fire which has inflamed your own Immaculate Heart.

Make our hearts and homes your shrine, and through our parish make the Heart of Jesus rule and triumph in every family and parish in the world. Amen.
